    PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS

Hips 7-grain cereal can be prepared with water, water and milk, or formula. It is recommended that this cereal not be prepared with whole cow's milk until your baby is over a year old and known to be milk tolerant. Using your baby's normal formula or breastmilk is recommended.

To prepare cereal with water add 3-4 tablespoons of cereal to 200 ml of boiled, water that has been cooled to 122 degrees Fahrenheit or cooler. Mix thoroughly and let sit until desired temperature is reached.

For cow milk preparations add 3-4 tablespoons of cereal to a mixture of 100 ml of milk and 100 ml of boiled water that has cooled to 122 degrees. Diluting the milk with water cuts down on the protein content of the cereal and makes it easier to digest. Mix thoroughly and let the cereal sit until the desired temperature is reached.

For formula and breastmilk preparations, use 200 ml of formula or breastmilk or dilute them with 100 ml of boiled water as with cow milk, depending on the tastes of your baby and his need for calories. Add 3-4 tablespoons of cereal to 200 ml of liquid and mix thoroughly. Let the cereal sit until the desired temperature is reached.

Liquid and cereal amount can be varied based on the needs of your child. For a thicker cereal add less liquid or more cereal. For a thinner cereal add more liquid or less cereal.

If your baby is just beginning to eat solid foods, he may only take a spoon or two of cereal in the beginning. You can adjust the amount of cereal you are making as follows.
