Product Details

Is this product right for my baby?
HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 is an infant formula with hydrolysed whey protein, suitable from birth. It is intended for babies with an increased risk of allergy — typically when a parent or sibling has eczema, asthma, hay fever or a food allergy — who need formula alongside or instead of breast milk. Speak to your doctor or midwife before choosing it.

Not suitable for a cow's milk protein allergy. Do not use HiPP HA if your baby has, or may have, a cow's milk protein allergy. Its protein is not broken down far enough for babies with this allergy; they need a formula recommended by their doctor.

It contains natural lactic acid cultures and prebiotic fibres (GOS), and has no starch, maltodextrin, added sweeteners or soy.

    FAQ's

What age is HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 for?
HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 is suitable from birth and can be used as your baby's only milk or alongside breastfeeding. From 6 months, you can move on to HiPP Dutch HA Stage 2.
Who is HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 for?
HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 is intended for babies with an increased risk of allergy — typically when a parent or sibling has eczema, asthma, hay fever or a food allergy — who need formula alongside or instead of breast milk. Its whey protein is hydrolysed, meaning it has been broken into smaller pieces. Guidance on hydrolysed formula varies between countries, so ask your doctor or midwife whether it suits your baby. It is not a treatment for allergy: if your baby already has symptoms, see your doctor first.
Can HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 be used for a cow's milk protein allergy?
No. HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 must not be used if your baby has, or may have, a cow's milk protein allergy. Its protein is not broken down far enough for babies with this allergy, so it can still cause a reaction. Babies with a cow's milk protein allergy need an extensively hydrolysed or amino-acid-based formula, which your doctor can advise on.
Is HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 organic?
No. HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 is not certified organic. It is made by HiPP in Germany under the same EU rules for infant formula as every HiPP formula.
Is HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 gluten-free and soy-free?
    Yes. HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
Does HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 contain starch or maltodextrin?
No. Lactose is its only carbohydrate, and it contains no starch, maltodextrin or added sugars.
Does HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 contain DHA?
Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 also contains ARA (omega-6), iron and vitamins A, C and D.
Does HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 contain probiotics?
Yes. HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 contains natural lactic acid cultures originally derived from breast milk, alongside prebiotic fibres (GOS).
How is HiPP Dutch HA different from regular HiPP Dutch formula?
The main difference is the protein. In HiPP Dutch HA the whey protein is hydrolysed — broken into smaller pieces — while regular HiPP Dutch uses intact milk protein. Both are lactose-only and starch-free, but HiPP Dutch HA is not organic.
How is HiPP Dutch HA different from HiPP German HA?
The recipes are the same: HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 and HiPP German HA Stage 1 have the same ingredients and nutrient levels. The differences are the packaging — an 800 g can for the Dutch version and a 600 g box for the German one — and the language on the pack. The German range also includes HA Pre.
How many bottles does one can of HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 make?
Each can contains 800 g of powder and makes approximately 6.2 litres (210 fl oz) of prepared formula — around 31 bottles of 200 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
How many cans of HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 do I need per month?
If formula is your baby's only milk, expect about 3 cans in the first month, around 4 a month from two to four months, and about 5 a month from five months. Every baby is different, so treat this as a guide and follow the feeding chart on the pack.
Which stage comes after HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1?
HiPP Dutch HA Stage 2, from 6 months onwards.
Do I have to pay import duties on orders to Canada?
No. For customers in Canada, My Organic Formula covers all import duties and taxes. You pay what you see at checkout.
Where is HiPP Dutch HA Stage 1 made?
    In Germany, by HiPP.
