How to prepare and store

Hipp UK infant formulas dissolve quickly and can be prepared in minutes. Preparation instructions are included in every package so it’s easy to follow along. 

How to Prepare Fresh

Step 1: Boil water and allow to cool to about 50 °C / 122 °F

Step 2: Fill roughly half the bottle with boiled water

Step 3: Use the measuring spoon provided and add the correct number of scoops (1 scoop per fluid ounce of water). Spoonfuls should be flat, not heaping

Step 4: Close the bottle and shake until powder is completely dissolved

Step 5: Fill the remaining half of the bottle and shake again until the powder is evenly diluted

Step 6: Allow to cool to about 37 °C / 98.6 °F 

Step 7: Squeeze a drop onto your forearm to test the temperature before feeding

How to Refrigerate and Store Prepared Formula:

Need to plan ahead and prepare some formula for later? No problem! Simply refrigerate the formula in temperatures below 41° F/5° C. Keep in mind that the longer you store, the more opportunity there is for harmful bacteria to grow. It’s always best to use within 2-3 hours of preparation. 

How to Reheat Prepared Formula:

Prepared formula can easily be rewarmed by placing the tightly sealed feeding container into a separate container of warm water. Occasionally shake and swirl the feeding container to ensure that it heats evenly. 

How to Store Opened Package of Dry Formula:
After opening, reseal in the original container. When stored properly, Hipp Infant Milk Formulas can last up to 28 days after opening.

    HiPP UK Anti-Reflux is suitable from birth as your baby's only milk, and from 6 months as part of a weaning diet. It is one formula for the whole first year, with no separate stages.
    Is HiPP UK Anti-Reflux right for my baby?
    HiPP UK Anti-Reflux is a food for special medical purposes, for the dietary management of frequent spitting up and regurgitation in babies. Some spitting up is normal in healthy babies and doesn't need a special formula, so speak to your doctor before switching. Do not use it if your baby has, or may have, a cow's milk protein allergy, and don't combine it with antacids or other feed thickeners unless your doctor advises it.
    Is HiPP UK Anti-Reflux organic?
    No. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux is not certified organic. It is made by HiPP in Germany under EU rules for special infant formulas.
    Is HiPP UK Anti-Reflux gluten-free and soy-free?
    Yes. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
    Does HiPP UK Anti-Reflux contain starch or maltodextrin?
    No. It is thickened with locust bean gum (carob bean gum), and lactose is its only carbohydrate. The feed thickens after mixing, so follow the preparation instructions on the pack closely. A faster-flow teat often works better with the thicker milk, and softer stools are normal.
    Does HiPP UK Anti-Reflux contain DHA?
    Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux also contains ARA (omega-6), iron and vitamins A, C and D.
    Does HiPP UK Anti-Reflux contain probiotics?
    No. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux contains no lactic acid cultures and no prebiotic GOS; its fibre comes from the locust bean gum thickener.
    How is HiPP UK Anti-Reflux different from HiPP UK Comfort?
    Both are special formulas from birth, for use under medical supervision. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux is for babies who bring up milk often: it uses standard milk protein and is thickened with locust bean gum. HiPP UK Comfort is for wind, colic and constipation: its milk protein is partially broken down and it has reduced lactose. Your doctor can help you decide which suits your baby.
    How is HiPP UK Anti-Reflux different from HiPP German Anti-Reflux?
    Both are thickened with locust bean gum and use lactose as their only carbohydrate. HiPP German Anti-Reflux also contains natural lactic acid cultures, which the UK version does not. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux comes in an 800 g can with English packaging; HiPP German Anti-Reflux comes in a 600 g box.
    How many bottles does one can of HiPP UK Anti-Reflux make?
    Each can contains 800 g of powder and makes approximately 6.1 litres (205 fl oz) of prepared formula — around 30 bottles of 200 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
    How many cans of HiPP UK Anti-Reflux do I need per month?
    If formula is your baby's only milk, expect about 3 cans in the first month, around 4 a month from two to four months, and about 5 a month from five months. Every baby is different, so treat this as a guide and follow the feeding chart on the pack.
    How long can my baby use HiPP UK Anti-Reflux?
    Only for as long as your doctor recommends and your baby needs it. Your doctor can advise when to move back to a standard formula.
    What should I do if HiPP UK Anti-Reflux doesn't help?
