HiPP UK Comfort is a food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of wind, colic and constipation in babies, for use under medical supervision.

The proteins in HiPP UK Comfort are partially hydrolysed – broken down into smaller pieces. It is not suitable for babies with a diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy.

It has a reduced lactose content, with maltodextrin and starch making up the rest of its carbohydrate. It contains DHA and ARA, and prebiotic fibres (GOS).

HiPP UK Comfort is not certified organic, and it contains palm oil and fish oil.

Each 800 g tin is suitable as the only milk from birth and as part of a weaning diet from 6 months.

How to prepare and store

Hipp UK infant formulas dissolve quickly and can be prepared in minutes. Preparation instructions are included in every package so it’s easy to follow along. 

How to Prepare Fresh

Step 1: Boil water and allow to cool to about 50 °C / 122 °F

Step 2: Fill roughly half the bottle with boiled water

Step 3: Use the measuring spoon provided and add the correct number of scoops (1 scoop per fluid ounce of water). Spoonfuls should be flat, not heaping

Step 4: Close the bottle and shake until powder is completely dissolved

Step 5: Fill the remaining half of the bottle and shake again until the powder is evenly diluted

Step 6: Allow to cool to about 37 °C / 98.6 °F 

Step 7: Squeeze a drop onto your forearm to test the temperature before feeding

How to Refrigerate and Store Prepared Formula:

Need to plan ahead and prepare some formula for later? No problem! Simply refrigerate the formula in temperatures below 41° F/5° C. Keep in mind that the longer you store, the more opportunity there is for harmful bacteria to grow. It’s always best to use within 2-3 hours of preparation. 

How to Reheat Prepared Formula:

Prepared formula can easily be rewarmed by placing the tightly sealed feeding container into a separate container of warm water. Occasionally shake and swirl the feeding container to ensure that it heats evenly. 

How to Store Opened Package of Dry Formula:
After opening, reseal in the original container. When stored properly, Hipp Infant Milk Formulas can last up to 28 days after opening.

    Is HiPP UK Comfort right for my baby?
    HiPP UK Comfort is a food for special medical purposes, for the dietary management of wind, colic and constipation in babies. Its milk protein is only partially broken down, so it is not suitable for babies with a diagnosed cow's milk protein allergy.
    Is HiPP UK Comfort organic?
    No. HiPP UK Comfort is not certified organic. It is made by HiPP in Germany under EU rules for special infant formulas, and contains palm oil and fish oil.
    Is HiPP UK Comfort gluten-free and soy-free?
    Yes. HiPP UK Comfort is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
    Is HiPP UK Comfort lactose-free?
    No. It contains reduced lactose — about 2.7 g per 100 ml, compared with 6.9 g in HiPP UK Stage 1. The rest of its carbohydrate comes from maltodextrin and starch. Because it still contains lactose, it is not suitable for babies who must avoid lactose completely.
    Does HiPP UK Comfort contain DHA?
    Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. HiPP UK Comfort also contains ARA (omega-6), iron and vitamins A, C and D.
    Does HiPP UK Comfort contain probiotics?
    No. HiPP UK Comfort contains prebiotic fibres (GOS) but no lactic acid cultures.
    How is HiPP UK Comfort different from HiPP UK Anti-Reflux?
    Both are special formulas from birth, for use under medical supervision. HiPP UK Comfort is for wind, colic and constipation: its milk protein is partially broken down and it has reduced lactose. HiPP UK Anti-Reflux is for babies who bring up milk often: it uses standard milk protein and is thickened with locust bean gum. Your doctor can help you decide which suits your baby.
    How is HiPP UK Comfort different from HiPP German Comfort?
    The nutrient levels are the same, including the reduced lactose, starch and partially hydrolysed whey protein. HiPP German Comfort also contains natural lactic acid cultures, which the UK version does not. HiPP UK Comfort comes in an 800 g can with English packaging; HiPP German Comfort comes in a 600 g box.
    How many bottles does one can of HiPP UK Comfort make?
    Each can contains 800 g of powder and makes approximately 6.1 litres (205 fl oz) of prepared formula — around 30 bottles of 200 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
    How many cans of HiPP UK Comfort do I need per month?
    If formula is your baby's only milk, expect about 3 cans in the first month, around 4 a month from two to four months, and about 5 a month from five months. Every baby is different, so treat this as a guide and follow the feeding chart on the pack.
    How long can my baby use HiPP UK Comfort?
    Only for as long as your doctor recommends and your baby needs it. Your doctor can advise when to move back to a standard formula.
    What should I do if HiPP UK Comfort doesn't help?

However, if you need to prepare ahead of time, make sure to store in the refrigerator below 41° F/5° C.
    Can I bring prepared formula with me when I’m traveling?
    Yes, but make sure to store in a cold cooler during transport and don’t keep it for longer than two hours.
    How do I rewarm a refrigerated formula?
    Feeds can be rewarmed by placing the tightly sealed feed in a container of warm water, stirring and swirling occasionally to make sure it heats evenly.
