How to prepare and store
Step 1:
Boil water and allow it to cool down to approx. 50 °C. Pour half of the water into the feeding bottle (see the feeding table for the amount).
Step 2:
Measure the amount of powder according to the feeding table and add it to the bottle. Fill the scoop loosely and level it off with the back of a knife.
Step 3:
Shake the powder and half of the water vigorously. Add the remaining water and shake well again.
Step 4:
Allow to cool to drinking temperature (37 °C).
1 level scoop = 4.5 g. Standard preparation: 13.5 g powder + 90 ml boiled water = 100 ml of ready-to-drink formula. One pack makes approx. 30 feeds of 100 ml. The amounts and number of feeds per day are guidelines only; small individual deviations are harmless and perfectly natural.
Care Instructions:
- Follow the preparation instructions exactly; the correct dosage gives your baby the nutrients it needs
- Use only the enclosed measuring scoop
- Improper preparation and storage can harm your baby's health
- Always prepare each bottle freshly; do not reuse leftovers
- Do not heat the formula in the microwave (risk of overheating)
- Clean bottle, teat and ring thoroughly
- After opening, use within 3 weeks

What age is Holle Stage 1 for?
Holle Stage 1 is suitable from birth and can be used as your baby's only milk or alongside breastfeeding. From 6 months, you can move on to Holle Stage 2.
Is Holle Stage 1 right for my baby?
Holle Stage 1 is a complete infant formula for healthy babies from birth. It uses lactose as its only carbohydrate and contains no starch or maltodextrin. If your baby has a diagnosed food allergy, speak to your paediatrician before choosing a formula.
Is Holle Stage 1 organic and Demeter certified?
Holle Stage 1 is EU organic certified, and about two-thirds of its ingredients (67%) come from Demeter-certified biodynamic farming. It contains no GMOs and no added sugars such as corn syrup or sucrose.
Is Holle Stage 1 gluten-free and soy-free?
Yes. Holle Stage 1 is gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free and peanut-free.
Does Holle Stage 1 contain starch or maltodextrin?
No. Lactose is its only carbohydrate, and it contains no starch, maltodextrin or added sugars.
Does Holle Stage 1 contain palm oil?
Yes. Holle Stage 1 contains palm oil from sustainable cultivation, together with sunflower and rapeseed oil.
Does Holle Stage 1 contain DHA?
Yes. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to normal visual development in infants up to twelve months. The DHA in Holle comes from algae rather than fish oil. Holle Stage 1 also contains ARA (omega-6), iron and vitamins A, C and D.
Does Holle Stage 1 contain probiotics?
No. Holle formula contains no lactic acid cultures and no added prebiotic fibres such as GOS.
How is Holle different from HiPP?
Both are EU organic. Holle has a large share of Demeter biodynamic ingredients, uses DHA from algae instead of fish oil, and contains no probiotics or GOS. HiPP German Combiotik uses fish oil and adds natural lactic acid cultures and GOS. From Stage 2 onwards, Holle contains maltodextrin; HiPP German does not.
What is the difference between Holle Pre and Holle Stage 1?
Very little. Both are suitable from birth and lactose-only, with DHA and ARA. Holle Stage 1 has slightly more energy and lactose per 100 ml (68 kcal versus 66 kcal). Either can be used from birth until your baby moves on to Holle Stage 2 at 6 months.
How many bottles does one box of Holle Stage 1 make?
Each box contains 400 g of powder and makes approximately 3 litres (100 fl oz) of prepared formula — around 15 bottles of 200 ml. Follow the preparation instructions on the pack.
How many boxes of Holle Stage 1 do I need per month?
If formula is your baby's only milk, expect about 7 boxes in the first month, around 8 to 9 a month in the second and third months, and about 10 a month from three months. The boxes are smaller than most (400 g), so you need more of them. Every baby is different, so treat this as a guide and follow the feeding chart on the pack.
Which stage comes after Holle Stage 1?
Holle Stage 2, from 6 months onwards.
